Goverdhan — a sacred hill of Braj

Goverdhan (Govardhan Parvat) is one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in the Braj region. Known for the divine story of Lord Krishna lifting the hill to protect the villagers, Goverdhan draws thousands of devotees who perform the traditional Goverdhan Parikrama — a circumambulation of the hill that is considered highly auspicious.

The hill is lush and green with a scenic walking path, small shrines, and several bathing places around its base such as Mansi Ganga and Radha Kund. Visitors will find a blend of spiritual atmosphere, local markets, and tranquil nature — ideal for both pilgrimage and quiet reflection.
